GAA Design is elated to announce the successful completion of its inaugural recladding project, marking a significant milestone in our portfolio of architectural achievements. This project presented a unique set of challenges and opportunities that allowed us to demonstrate our commitment to innovation and problem-solving.
The original building featured a preformed aluminum cladding panel, which was initially deemed acceptable and retained as a foundation. However, it became evident that the surrounding construction beyond the cladding required immediate attention due the previous materials being inappropriate. Recognising the complexity of the situation, GAA Design embarked on a journey of meticulous analysis and extensive collaboration with a range of professionals in the construction industry.
One crucial aspect of our success was the close partnership we forged with Fleetwood Architectural Aluminium, a renowned facade contractor with a wealth of experience in similar projects. Their expertise in working with aluminium cladding and façade systems proved invaluable in the resolution of the complex issues we encountered.
To ensure the safety and compliance of the recladding design, we collaborated with BB7, a team of dedicated fire engineers. Their input was instrumental in crafting a design that not only addressed the fire engineering concerns but also met the stringent fire safety standards, ensuring the building’s occupants’ well-being.
Additionally, Meinhardt, a respected cladding engineering firm, played a pivotal role in the project. Their specialised knowledge and engineering acumen were essential in devising innovative solutions to overcome the defects and create a sustainable, aesthetically pleasing design that met all technical requirements.
Throughout this collaborative effort, GAA Design maintained a strong commitment to regulatory compliance. We worked diligently to ensure that our design not only met but exceeded the expectations of Bureau Veritas, the Building Control Approved Inspector responsible for overseeing the project. Our relentless attention to detail and unwavering dedication to quality assurance ensured that the final design was not only compliant but also represented a benchmark of excellence in recladding projects.
In conclusion, GAA Design’s successful completion of its first recladding project is a testament to our passion for architectural innovation and our ability to collaborate effectively with a range of industry experts. This achievement reinforces our commitment to delivering exceptional solutions to complex architectural challenges and sets a high standard for future projects. We look forward to embarking on more transformative ventures that push the boundaries of design and construction excellence.
